Description

Deep black crossed by a blue sheen that traces an eye, the rainbow obsidian bracelet is the most mysterious of all obsidians. Shaped by hand from natural stones, it is worn like a small inner mirror, for the moments when you are trying to see more clearly.

Rainbow obsidian (also called celestial eye obsidian) owes its sheen to a fascinating optical effect: as the volcanic lava cools, tiny magnetite inclusions set into fine layers within the glass. When light strikes those layers it is diffracted, throwing back blue, silver or iridescent reflections, rather like the surface of a soap bubble. That sheen moves and changes intensity with the angle: you never see it quite the same way twice. To understand this rare variety fully, see my complete guide to rainbow obsidian.
In crystal healing, this obsidian is considered the most “spiritual” of the family. It is described as a mirror stone, the one that helps you see what is usually hidden, reach your intuition, find clarity again. Linked to the third eye chakra, it accompanies introspection and meditation. It also keeps the protective grounding of black obsidian, but turns it further inward, towards inner vision.
Unisex and captivating, this bracelet slips onto a woman’s wrist as readily as a man’s. Its elastic cord lets you put it on without a clasp and sits comfortably around your wrist. Wear it on its own to watch its reflections, or alongside other natural stone bracelets, amethyst, rose quartz or lapis lazuli make good companions for strengthening intuition.

Handmade by Camille

Every bracelet is put together by hand in my workshop in France. I choose the rainbow obsidian beads one by one, holding them up to the light to spot where the blue eye is hiding, and watch over every finish, so the piece arriving at your door is truly unique.
Rainbow obsidian is the stone that demands the most patience when sorting. Each bead only gives up its sheen at a certain angle. That is what makes this bracelet so special, it exists nowhere else, and the eye you wear will speak to you in a way that will never repeat itself quite the same. Read the story of the workshop.

“When I sort rainbow obsidian beads, I’m like a child hunting for buried treasure. The eye appears, vanishes, changes shade with the light. It is the bracelet I suggest to anyone going through a period of questioning.”, Camille

Care: a soft cloth is all it takes; avoid salt, knocks and prolonged contact with water, and take it off before showering or exercising. All my tips are in the care guide.

Rainbow obsidian, as a set

This bracelet has companions. Same stone, same hand, same hunt for the beads that really catch the light, worn together, they turn a single piece into a rainbow obsidian set.

Here are the correspondences traditionally associated with rainbow obsidian in crystal healing: its chakras, its star signs, its symbolism. These correspondences come from tradition and belief — take them as such, not as scientific fact.

Associated chakras

Root (Muladhara) — grounding and stability, inherited from the obsidian family.

Third eye (Ajna) — intuition, mental clarity and inner vision, brought by the eye-shaped blue sheen.

Star signs

Scorpio — for its depth and spiritual intensity.

Sagittarius — for its search for meaning and truth.

Capricorn & Aquarius — for their need for clarity and independence.

Symbolism

A stone of vision and introspection — the "mirror stone" that helps you see what is hidden and reach your deeper intuition. Ideal for meditation and moments of inner questioning.

Why the eye?

The blue sheen is not a dye: it comes from fine layers of magnetite nanoparticles that diffract the light, creating a shifting, eye-shaped reflection. In French the variety is called obsidienne œil céleste — "celestial eye obsidian". Every bead is unique — the eye never appears in the same place. To understand it fully, read my complete guide to rainbow obsidian.

A reminder: these correspondences belong to crystal healing, a wellbeing practice rooted in tradition and belief. They are not a medical claim and are never a substitute for advice from a healthcare professional.

Caring for your obsidian

To keep your piece looking its best, a soft cloth is usually all you need. Avoid salt, harsh products and knocks, and take it off before showering, swimming or exercising.

In crystal healing, many people also like to cleanse and charge their stone from time to time, with smoke, under moonlight, or on a quartz cluster.
