Celestial eye obsidian, also called silver sheen obsidian, owes its optical effect to microscopic layers of gas bubbles trapped in the volcanic glass as it cooled. When light strikes at the right angle, these layers act like a mirror and reflect a concentrated band of blue-white light across the stone. The effect moves as you turn the piece, it is not a fixed colour, but a live optical phenomenon.
This variety is significantly rarer than plain black obsidian. The sheen must be present, even and consistent, a stone with uneven or absent sheen is simply black obsidian. This is the first thing to check when buying this type of stone.

Every stone is individually selected for the quality and depth of its sheen. Celestial eye obsidian is rare, most black obsidians have no optical effect whatsoever. I choose only the stones where the blue-silver light moves cleanly across the surface, with no cloudiness or patchy colour.

Care: silver 925 should be kept away from water, perfume, and cosmetics, remove before showering, swimming or exercising. Polish occasionally with a silver cloth to restore its shine. All care tips in the cleaning guide.
