Description
The snowflake obsidian necklace, the stone of gentle change worn close to the heart, black lava cooled sharply, in which white crystals had time to bloom. Snowflake obsidian is black obsidian in which clusters of cristobalite have formed, a white mineral that crystallises slowly inside the volcanic glass, long after the lava has cooled. These pale patches aren’t impurities: they’re traces of a slow transformation inside a stone we assume is frozen in time.
Where black obsidian acts as an unflinching mirror, the snowflake variety softens its intensity. White tempers black, light balances shadow. Worn as a necklace rather than a bracelet, this unique pattern sits at eye level, and since every pendant is different, it’s also the most personal piece in the range: no two people ever wear exactly the same design.
In crystal healing, speckled obsidian is associated with breaking repetitive patterns, the habits we know no longer serve us, but keep on autopilot anyway. It’s often described as the “gentlest” obsidian, the one recommended to those who find pure black obsidian too intense, or who are going through a period of change without wanting to upend everything at once.

Handcrafted by Camille
Every necklace is assembled by hand in my workshop, in France. On this pendant, I choose every stone for the balance of its pattern: not too much white, which would flatten the depth of the black, and not too little, which would make the snowflake almost invisible. No stone looks like another, so every selection is its own decision.
