Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to me. This page explains, in plain language, what data I collect, why, how long I keep it, and what your rights are.

Who is responsible for your data

Data collected on this site is handled by Camille, whose full details appear in the legal notice. For any question about your data: contact@bijoux-obsidienne.fr.

Good to know, my studio is based in France, so my handling of your data is governed by the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). That protection follows you wherever you live, including in Australia. Where the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles also apply, I comply with them.

What data I collect

  • Identity and contact details: first name, surname, email address, postal address, phone number.
  • Order data: items ordered, amount, purchase history.
  • Payment data: handled directly by my secure payment provider. I never see or store your full card details.
  • Browsing data: through cookies (see below).
  • Newsletter: your email address, if you sign up.

Why I use it, and on what basis

  • Processing and delivering your orders, performance of a contract.
  • Customer service and after-sales support, performance of a contract and legitimate interest.
  • Meeting my legal and accounting obligations, legal obligation.
  • Sending you the newsletter, your consent.
  • Measuring traffic and improving the site, your consent (cookies).
  • Preventing fraud and keeping the site secure, legitimate interest.

Who has access to your data

Your data is for me and, only as far as necessary, for my service providers: web host, payment provider, carrier, and email platform. These providers act on my instructions. I never sell or rent your data.

Where your data is stored

Because my studio is in France, your data is stored and processed within the European Union. If you order from Australia, this means your personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients located in the EU, a region with data protection standards at least equivalent to the Australian Privacy Principles.

If one of my tools involves a transfer outside the EU, it is covered by appropriate safeguards (the European Commission's standard contractual clauses).

How long I keep it

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your data:

  • the right to access, correct and erase your data;
  • the right to restrict and to object to processing;
  • the right to data portability;
  • the right to withdraw your consent at any time;
  • the right to give instructions about what happens to your data after your death.

If you feel your rights aren't being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French supervisory authority, the CNIL: cnil.fr. If you are in Australia, you may also contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner: oaic.gov.au.

Security

I take reasonable steps to protect your data: a secure connection (HTTPS), secure hosting, and access limited to the people who genuinely need it. In the unlikely event of a data breach likely to cause you serious harm, I will notify you and the relevant authorities as required.

Cookies

This site uses cookies: strictly necessary cookies that make it work (always on), and, where applicable, analytics cookies or cookies tied to third-party services, which are only set with your consent through the cookie banner. You can change your choices at any time, and configure your browser to refuse cookies.

Newsletter

You'll only receive my newsletter if you've asked for it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time, your details are then removed from my mailing list. This also meets the requirements of the Australian Spam Act 2003.

Young people

This site and my shop aren't intended for anyone under 15 without the agreement of a parent or guardian. I don't knowingly collect data about young people without that agreement.
