Delivery & Returns
Every piece is made by hand, so I take real care preparing and packing your order before it makes the trip to Australia. Here is everything worth knowing before you order.
Preparing your order
My jewellery is made by hand, either to order or in very small batches. So I pack your parcel with care within 2 to 4 business days, then email you the moment it leaves the workshop.
Shipping to Australia
Every piece is made and posted from my workshop in France, so your parcel travels as a tracked international package. Shipping is free on orders over AU$79 anywhere in Australia; below that, the cost depends on your address and is shown at checkout in Australian dollars.
| Destination | Estimated transit* |
|---|---|
| Australia, metro (Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide) | 10 to 16 business days |
| Australia, regional & remote | 12 to 20 business days |
| New Zealand | 10 to 18 business days |
*Indicative transit times from despatch, excluding making time. International parcels can occasionally be held longer in customs, especially around the Christmas period.
GST, duties & customs
All prices shown on the site are in Australian dollars. I'm based in France and not registered for Australian GST, so no GST is added to your order.
Jewellery orders sit well under the A$1,000 low value import threshold, so there's nothing extra to pay on delivery and no customs paperwork on your side, your parcel is declared and cleared before it reaches you. On the rare order above A$1,000, GST and any duty are collected at the border and payable by you.
Tracking your parcel
As soon as your order is despatched, I email you a tracking number so you can follow your parcel all the way to your door. If you can't find the email, have a quick look in your junk folder, or just write to me.
Returns & change of mind
Changed your mind? You have 14 days from the day your order arrives to send it back to me, no explanation needed. This is my own promise to you, offered on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Return conditions
- The piece must be unworn, in its original condition, with its gift box.
- For hygiene reasons, earrings can't be returned or exchanged once the box has been opened.
- Personalised or made-to-measure pieces can't be returned for change of mind.
How to go about it
Write to me at contact@bijoux-obsidienne.fr with your order number, and I'll talk you through sending it back.
Return postage is at your expense for a change of mind, unless the mistake was mine or the piece is faulty.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law
My jewellery comes with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. If a piece arrives faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund, and to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure, and to have the piece repaired or replaced if it fails to be of acceptable quality but the failure doesn't amount to a major failure. In those cases I cover the return postage.
Refunds
Once your return arrives and I've checked it over, I issue the refund within 14 days at the latest, back to the payment method you used at checkout. I'll email you as soon as it's done.
Exchanges
After a different size or another design? Get in touch and we'll work out the best solution together, within whatever is still available, every piece being one of a kind.
Damaged parcel or wrong item
If your parcel arrives damaged, or the piece inside isn't what you ordered, write to me within 48 hours with a photo: I'll sort it out, at my expense.
A quick word, my jewellery is handmade with natural stones. Slight variations in tone, shape or the way the light catches them are completely normal: that's what makes your piece yours, not a flaw.
Any questions?
I always love hearing from you. Write to me at contact@bijoux-obsidienne.fr or through my contact page. You can also read my terms and conditions.
