The obsidian bracelet, a stone to wear every day

A bracelet is easily the simplest way to keep obsidian with you. Known in crystal healing as a stone of protection and grounding, it sits quietly on the wrist through the whole day. Every bracelet in this collection is strung by hand in my studio, with stones chosen one at a time, including the classic black obsidian bracelet, the piece most people start with.

Wondering which wrist to wear it on, or what it's said to bring day to day? I go into all of that in my article on the benefits of an obsidian bracelet. And to get to know the stone itself, its varieties, its volcanic origin, how to look after it, head to the complete guide to obsidian and my care tips.

Worth noting, the properties mentioned here belong to crystal healing, a wellbeing practice grounded in tradition and belief. They are not a health claim and are not a substitute for professional advice.

How do I choose my bracelet size?
Measure your wrist with a tape measure (or a piece of string), then add roughly 1 to 1.5 cm for comfort, my bracelets are strung on elastic, so they're forgiving. There's a full chart and a calculator in the size guide, and if you're still unsure, write to me and I'll help you choose.
Which wrist should I wear an obsidian bracelet on?
Tradition has you wear it on the left wrist to receive the stone's energy, and on the right to shield outwards. Neither is a rule, plenty of people simply wear it on their non-dominant wrist so it takes fewer knocks. More on the thinking behind it in the benefits of an obsidian bracelet.
How can I tell if an obsidian bracelet is real?
Real obsidian is a volcanic glass: it feels cool to the touch and warms slowly, and the beads are never perfectly identical, you'll see tiny variations in tone and in the way each one catches the light. Beads that are flawlessly uniform, unnaturally light, or full of even little bubbles are usually moulded glass. Everything I sell is natural obsidian, never dyed or reconstituted.
Are your bracelets really handmade?
Yes: every bracelet is strung by hand in my studio, with genuine obsidian stones I select one at a time. That makes each piece one of a kind. You can read my story and how I work on the about page.
How long does delivery to Australia take?
Your bracelet is made to order, so allow 2 to 4 business days in the studio, then 10 to 16 business days in transit to metro Australia and 12 to 20 to regional and remote addresses. It travels as a tracked international parcel, and shipping is free over AU$79. Full details on the delivery & returns page.
How do I care for my obsidian bracelet?
A soft cloth is usually all it takes. Steer clear of salt, harsh products and knocks, and take it off before the shower or the gym. All my tips are in the guide to cleaning your obsidian.
