Description

The silver chain obsidian bracelet, a solid silver chain carrying a few beads of volcanic stone, not a beaded bracelet dressed up with silver, but the reverse: a genuine 925 silver chain, on which black obsidian beads come to rest, spaced out, almost suspended. Handcrafted from natural stones, this is the one you wear for the fineness of a chain, without giving up the stone.

The difference from a beaded bracelet is structural. Here, the base of the piece is a solid 925 silver chain, fine, articulated, with a lobster clasp and an extension chain that lets you fine-tune the wrist size precisely. The obsidian beads don’t fill the whole length: they’re strung at intervals, like accent points along the chain, rather than a compact string of stones.

This construction completely changes your relationship with the stone. On a beaded bracelet, obsidian dominates visually, it’s a stone piece of jewellery. Here, it’s a chain piece, in which obsidian appears as a touch, almost a punctuation mark. The result is more discreet, finer, closer to a traditional fine jewellery piece than a visible energy bracelet. Wear it alone or stacked with other fine chains.

In crystal healing, obsidian keeps its usual properties even in small amounts: protection against outside tension, grounding at the root chakra. Tradition holds that a single stone is enough, even in a small format, to keep exerting its effect, it isn’t the size of the stone that matters, but its presence on the body.

Camille, founder of Bijoux Obsidienne, crafting a silver chain obsidian bracelet in her workshop in France

Handcrafted by Camille

Every bracelet is assembled by hand in my workshop, in France. This design calls for different work than my beaded bracelets: setting small stones directly onto a fine chain demands more precision, each bead needing to stay firmly fixed without weighing down the chain’s natural movement.

This bracelet came out of a recurring request: customers who loved obsidian but mostly wore fine chain jewellery, looking for something in between. This piece is my answer, the stone is still there, but stepping back, serving the chain rather than the other way around. See also my beaded obsidian and silver bracelet, or the story of the workshop.

“Some women want to wear obsidian without it being the first thing you notice. This bracelet is for them, the stone is there, it just doesn’t shout.”, Camille

Care: for the sterling silver, avoid prolonged contact with water, perfume and cosmetics, and polish the chain now and then with a suitable cloth. A soft cloth is all it takes for the stone. All my care tips are in the cleaning guide.

Here are the correspondences linked to obsidian and silver in crystal healing and ancient traditions — they come from beliefs, and should be taken as such.

A Little Goes a Long Way

The amount of stone isn't, in crystal healing tradition, what determines a stone's effect.

A single obsidian bead, worn consistently, is said to keep working just like a bracelet with more stone.

The Lunar Metal

Silver is traditionally linked to the Moon, intuition and receptivity.

Here, it carries the structure of the piece — a quiet foundation the stone's effect rests on.

Root Chakra

Muladhara — the chakra of grounding and safety.

Obsidian works there, even in small amounts, as a regular point of contact with this energy.

Restraint as Strength

A discreet piece of jewellery isn't, by tradition, a less powerful one — restraint is sometimes read as a sign of mastery rather than a lack of presence.

A reminder: these correspondences belong to crystal healing and ancient traditions, wellness approaches based on beliefs. They are not medical claims and never replace the advice of a healthcare professional.

Caring for your obsidian

To keep your piece looking its best, a soft cloth is usually all you need. Avoid salt, harsh products and knocks, and take it off before the shower, the beach, the pool or the gym.

In crystal healing, many people also like to cleanse and charge their stone from time to time, with smoke, under moonlight, or on a quartz cluster.
