Deep black shot through with rainbow reflections that dance in the light, the rainbow obsidian beaded bracelet is the most spectacular obsidian of them all. Shaped by hand from natural stones, it wears like a small rainbow on the wrist, a symbol of harmony and balance.
Rainbow obsidian owes its reflections to the same optical effect as blue sheen obsidian, pushed further: fine layers of magnetite nanoparticles scatter the light and throw back a broader, more iridescent spectrum. Instead of a single localised blue eye, you see reflections that shift colour, blue, green, violet, sometimes pink or gold, depending on the angle and the light. In crystal healing, this obsidian is regarded as the most balanced and harmonising of the family. It’s described as a stone that “brings all the elements together”, said to settle inner conflict and create harmony between body, heart and mind. Linked to the crown chakra (the seventh), it’s associated with unity, spirituality and the wider view, seeing the whole rather than the detail. It keeps the grounding of black obsidian, but lifts it towards a broader, brighter perspective.

Every bracelet is put together by hand in my studio, in France. I choose the rainbow obsidian beads one at a time, holding them up to the light to watch all their reflections move, and check every finish, so that the piece arriving at your door is a small marvel in its own right.
