Description

The sterling silver obsidian ring is a piece to keep. Shaped by hand from a natural stone and a precious metal, it’s the one to wear for quiet grace, to move through your days with assurance and something timeless on your hand.

Sterling silver (925) is the benchmark metal in fine jewellery. Where stainless steel is modern and hard-wearing, sterling silver brings a timeless nobility. It ages beautifully, takes on a soft patina, gains character with time. Set against black obsidian, it creates a perfect harmony between raw stone and precious metal, a piece that speaks of refinement without raising its voice.
Black obsidian is the grounding stone par excellence. Formed as volcanic lava cooled quickly, it’s one of the few stones to offer that absolute depth, a black that seems to have no end. Set in a ring with a sterling silver band, it makes a timeless, unisex piece that outlasts trends. Every time you look at it, it brings you back to the present moment, to your own solidity. To take in everything this stone has to offer, see my complete obsidian guide or my article on obsidian and protection.
In crystal healing, black obsidian is known as the stone of grounding, truth and protection. It’s described as a shield, a mirror, something that “sends back what doesn’t belong to us” and helps you see clearly. Set in sterling silver, that message is carried in a piece with real presence: grounded and clear, and worth wearing for its own sake. It’s never a magic promise, just a small daily companion, one you’ll want to keep.
The sterling silver 925 band is shaped by hand. Unlike an industrial run, every piece carries the mark of the work that made it. Sterling silver cleans easily and ages gracefully, it darkens slightly over time, the patina that gives it character.

Handmade by Camille

Every ring is put together by hand in my studio, in France. I work the sterling silver myself, shaping a band that shows off the stone while staying understated and timeless. I choose the black obsidian beads one at a time, looking for that particular smoothness, that deep black that catches the light, and set the silver band precisely, so that the ring arriving at your door is genuinely something to keep.
The sterling silver pieces are my favourites to make. There’s something quietly magic in the way a precious metal sets off a raw stone. It’s a conversation between human work and nature, between my hands shaping the metal and a stone born of volcanic fire. Every piece is its own, made one at a time, with attention and respect. You can read the story of the studio here.

“A sterling silver and obsidian ring is a piece to keep. It isn’t an accessory, it’s a companion, something that will stay with you for years and age beautifully.”, Camille

Care: clean the obsidian with a soft cloth; sterling silver can tarnish slightly over time (a natural patina). To clean it, use a soft cloth made for silver, or a gentle solution. Don’t use hot water, lukewarm is plenty. Take the ring off before exercising or showering to make it last. All my tips are in the care guide.

Here are the correspondences traditionally associated with black obsidian in crystal healing — they come from tradition and belief, and are best taken as such.

Root chakra

Muladhara — the chakra of grounding, safety and stability.

Black obsidian is said to work this chakra deeply — a steady foundation for everything else to rest on.

Sterling silver

Clarity and grace — 925 silver has long been associated with the moon and with reflection.

Stone and silver together make a balance of grounding and quiet refinement.

Raw and refined

A conversation between volcanic stone and precious metal.

Nature and craft, in a piece made to last.

Symbolism

A stone of quiet presence and grounded elegance. The sterling silver ring is for anyone after clarity and grace, steadiness and refinement — without raising its voice.

A reminder: these correspondences come from crystal healing, a wellbeing practice grounded in tradition and belief. They are not health claims — this ring treats, cures and prevents nothing — and they never replace the advice of a health professional.

Caring for your obsidian

To keep your piece looking its best, a soft cloth is usually all you need. Avoid salt, harsh products and knocks, and take it off before the shower, the beach, the pool or the gym.

In crystal healing, many people also like to cleanse and charge their stone from time to time, with smoke, under moonlight, or on a quartz cluster.

Handmade jewellery, made in France

Every piece is handcrafted in my studio from natural stones chosen one by one. No mass production: small batches, and plenty of one-of-a-kind pieces.
